I left yesterday afternoon and I arrived this afternoon (that means, when it was afternoon here in Sofia). I'll shower tomorrow morning (just so happens that the water is getting turned off at the office on Tuesday afternoons). My flights were uneventful and I intentionally slept little - maybe two hours combined for better acclimation this evening. The overall travel experience was good, bolstered by the joy of reading through a book from beginning to end. I would have enjoyed the content alone, but finishing a fun task like that (reading a book to have a better grasp on the international geopolitical scenario) helped me keep positive and be thankful. With so much airtime and layovers, one gets tired. Sometimes tiredness can beget bad attitudes. I'm thankful to God that He kept me aware of all the good He was working out for me during the travel experience so that I could take time to pray intermittently about: the safety in the travel, the relative productivity of my time, the comfort of my accommodations and stomach, the peacefulness of my fellow travelers, the arrival of my checked bags, the kindness of Nicky and Christian to pick me up from the airport and help me shop at the local supermarket, the relaxing location and atmosphere at the Bible League office, and the availability of these Internet services. I'm certainly mindful of the love and financial sacrifices others have made so that I can be here.
I spoke with Nicky about my schedule, but I'll know more definitely about where I'll be and what I'll be doing tomorrow evening when I meet with Spaska. I'll be back soon.
